The Sprain

Have you ever had one of those days when you wake up one day and you find a bruise on your body? You had no idea how it happen but if you ask some old people like your grandma, she will said you were pinched by a ghost. Scary if not ludicrous.

Well I woke up last Friday and my hand was sprained. Light sprain initially and I even went to work. Pain progressed slowly later the day and I had to see the doctor. The doctor was a clueless as me but he agreed I shouldn't work that hand. I came back with my hand wrapped like this. Of course it alarmed everyone and I am asked to go home.

This bandage offered a bit of support but it was also rather itchy and cumbersome. With all types of injury, it had to get worse before it got better. After 2 days I got sick of the itchy bandage and asked my cousin brother to take me to a pharmacy and get a more appropriate brace.

I must said the brace worked to heal my hand better than the Panadol and pain killers.

When people know I am a lefty, they were quite relief as I have injured my right hand. No one was more surprise than myself how much you actually depend on both hands to get things done. I had to employ very creative ways of squeezing toothpaste, wearing my undergarments, eating and pulling toilet paper.

Since I had no idea how that hand got sprained, I told everyone who asked, I was working part time at some underground fight club for some extra cash. My opponent was wasted and I got a bum hand.

Either that or I can tell people I arm wrestled a ghost. Which one is the better story?

OMG! That must have hurt a lot. It's good that you were able to go to the doctor fast and had that bothersome bandage with a more comfortable one. I can definitely relate with you on the difficulty in just using one hand to do things that are totally mundane if done with two. I hope you're all fixed up now. Stay healthy!

Hi Sandie,

Yea, in the end I had to have several sessions of physio. Gotta really take care of the health of your limbs :)
